Welcome to PFCD
The Palestinian Friendship Center for Development (PFCD) is a non-profit, non-partisan and national-based organization, whose mission is to create a lasting and positive change in the lives of Palestinians. Since its establishment in 1996, PFCD has been serving the Palestinian society by using informal education, communication and social services to develop various community initiatives.
PFCD works mainly to improve conditions related to children and youth, with special focus on females to engage them to play an active and healthy role within the society. Thus, PFCD conducts specific programs to fulfill their needs, develop their capacity and ensure their sanity integration in their community.
Training Programme on Citizenship Media
PFCD has concluded a training programme on Citizen Media. Discussing a number of topics related to communications , democracy , human rights and social media . The training took place in Feb.-April 2012 ; including 20 participants from the universities in Gaza Strip . 96 training hours has been conducted by a group of trainers and experts in civic and media work .
Young in Mutual Learning within the Mediterranean
By the support of Anna Lindh Foundation and in partnership with Association Babel in France, PFCD is currently implementing a project called: “Enhance the abilities of Female Journalists and writers”. This project addresses young females journalists & writers at their beginning or mid career, in order to strengthen their liberal writings and thinking skills. In this context, the project will provide a professional training for 30 females from Palestine and France on Citizen Media. In addition, the training aims at enhancing their writing skills, as well as building a network of young writers that able to advocate democracy, human rights, freedom of speech and improve the woman position within the society.
